Whimsical Workings

Ho! Ho! Ho!

It's 4 days to Christmas. I've finished my shopping, wrapped all my gifts (I think), finished my commissioning (two sweaters) three weeks ago. Things are good. So why do I have the Christmas blues? I started a knitted vest for my Dad for Christmas and I might actually get it done by then, but I think if I could just do nothing for one full day, it would be amazing. Even when I'm at home on the weekend, there's no sitting doing nothing; there's always something that has to get done.

I remember when I was in high school thinking that Christmas holiday wasn't coming fast enough, now I'm wondering where the year went. I feel like I just started the year and it's already over. Crazy, isn't it? Does the amount of time in a minute change as you get older?

I've signed up for a course on Organization by a Profeesional Organizer. But I just don't think that's what's causing the blues. So much to do, so little time...

While working on my vest, I came up with designs for three more projects. Of course, I wanted to start them right away, but I promised myself that I would finish some of the projects I've already started before I start any more. I would have worked on some of the unfinished projects after the commissioning if it hadn't been for the fact that I promised my Dad I would make him a vest.

Ah well, 'tis life! Enough whining!

I was instructed on Monday of this week that a gift exchange and potluck are happening at lunch on Friday. Surprise! Good thing we have frozen beanstuff and I keep a few ideas in my head for backup gifts. Went out last night, picked up the gift and wrapped in. Whew!

So, last Sunday, Mom and I went to a carol sing at Heritage Missisauga and we may have talked them into crochet lessons in the New Year. All we said was, we were passing on the heritage and that was enough.

Well, back to work. Merry Christmas everyone and a safe and Happy New Year to you and yours.
